MENLO PARK, Calif., July 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Stacy Leitner, executive assistant for the City of Rancho Cordova in Calif., has been selected as the recipient of the 2012 OfficeTeam Administrative Excellence Award. For the past eight years, OfficeTeam has partnered with the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) to recognize administrative professionals who demonstrate a commitment to leadership, education and operational efficiency. Other supporters of the award include CareerBuilder, Dress for Success, MeasureUp and SkillSoft.
Two additional professionals also were recognized as runners-up for the award. Charlene Endre-Burgett of North Scottsdale Family Medicine in Scottsdale, Ariz., and Robert Marshall of UnitedHealth Group IT in Hartford, Conn., were honored for their contributions to their employers and the administrative profession.

Leitner has been instrumental in spearheading organizational changes. For example, she established the City of Rancho Cordova's internship program and launched the Technology Tribe, a multidepartmental task force to address the organization's ever-changing technology needs. Leitner also developed a monthly newsletter to provide tips and resources to administrative professionals in her organization. In addition, she's an active participant in the city's Office of New Ideas, a program in which employees present solutions for improving revenues, enhancing services and curtailing costs.
Leitner demonstrates a strong commitment to professional development and loves sharing knowledge with others. She holds various Microsoft Office Specialist certifications and teaches evening classes in the business program at Heald College.
In addition to the contributions she makes on the job and in the classroom, Leitner founded the Rancho Cordova chapter of IAAP and served as president from 2010 to 2012. She holds the Certified Administrative Professional – Organizational Management (CAP-OM) designation.
