MENLO PARK, Calif., March 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- HDI, the world's largest membership association for help desk and technical support professionals, announced yesterday that Katherine Spencer Lee has been honored as this year's winner of the Ron Muns Lifetime Achievement Award. The award was presented yesterday evening at the 2011 HDI World Conference on Technical Service and Support in Las Vegas.
The HDI Ron Muns Lifetime Achievement Award was created in honor of HDI founder, Ron Muns, who retired in 2008 after a lifetime of dedication and service to the information technology (IT) support industry. Recipients of this award reflect the principles that Muns followed throughout his stewardship at HDI and demonstrate a dedication to the improvement of the support industry, including a willingness to share their expertise with others through publications, training, presentations and dedication to advancing the professionalism of the entire industry.
Lee is the former executive director of Robert Half Technology, the IT staffing division of global staffing firm Robert Half International. She currently oversees Robert Half's professional staffing operations in the Southeastern United States; Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized staffing firm with more than 350 offices worldwide. Lee has been a professional member of HDI for more than 15 years.

A graduate of Northern Arizona University, Lee has been with Robert Half since 1995. In her role as the executive director for Robert Half Technology, she was actively involved with HDI chapters throughout North America, including participating in their Strategic Advisory Board and speaking at the annual conference.
A nationally recognized career authority, Lee has presented at dozens of conferences and events on hiring and management topics, as well as technology industry trends. She is regularly quoted by the media and has been cited in publications ranging from USA Today and BusinessWeek to The New York Times. She also has authored regular career columns for a variety of national publications, including Computerworld, SupportWorld and Certification Magazine.
