Creative Group Partners With AIGA to Launch 'INitiative': New Program to Help In-House Creative Professionals Further Their Careers

MENLO PARK, Calif., Jan. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Creative Group, a specialized staffing service for interactive, design and marketing professionals, today announced it has partnered with AIGA, the world's largest and most influential design organization, on a nationwide career development program for in-house designers. The innovative program is called "INitiative: INsights to help INhouse design teams thrive," and it was developed to help in-house designers make a greater impact at work, advance professionally and connect with a broader network of peers.

INitiative will provide inspiration, advice and insights targeted to in-house professionals through online channels and in-person events. This includes a quarterly INform e-newsletter, dedicated section on the AIGA website (www.aiga.org/inhouse-initiative) and video series covering topics relevant to in-house designers and the companies where they work. In addition, AIGA chapters nationwide will host speaker presentations, training workshops, roundtable discussions and manager boot camps in partnership with The Creative Group.

"A significant portion of the design community works in-house at corporations, and this percentage is expected to grow, according to research we conducted for The Creative Team of the Future project," said Donna Farrugia, executive director of The Creative Group. "We are thrilled to work with AIGA to provide targeted resources, information and events that support and unite in-house designers across the country and, ultimately, help them achieve satisfying careers."

"Some of the most extraordinary design today emerges from the talented professionals working within corporations, rather than in studios and agencies," added Richard Grefe, executive director of AIGA. "This is a community the profession has always respected deeply, and now, with The Creative Group, we are eager to provide activities and inspirational support aimed specifically at their challenges."
